how it works

& frequently asked questions

Each used grass patch can be composted or placed in green bins, making the impact on the environment a little less harsh, which is extremely important to us. For apartment living, if you don’t currently have a greens bin available, call your local council and request one. Most suburbs now have this service available (and the owner is paying for the service already).

Alternatively, if these options aren’t available to you, the old patch can be placed in the compostable bag that the new patch was delivered in, and then disposed of in a regular bin which will still allow it to decompose in landfill.

Our grass is harvested fresh every Monday and delivered the next day. Orders placed before Thursday EOD will be delivered the following Monday/Tuesday. Some delays may occur on weeks with Public Holidays.

Due to our product being perishable, they are delivered with an ‘Authority To Leave’ at your address. Please include any delivery notes in the notes section when ordering. Real Grass is not responsible for any stolen or missing items. We will always leave items in the most inconspicuous place possible if no one is home. You will receive an email to notify you once your item has been delivered. Please check your junk mail if you are not receiving these emails.

Real Grass offers a partial refund for change of mind purchase of the dog toilet unit, 48 hours from purchase date. We withhold the cost of grass patch (due to perishability of product) – $39.95.

We do not accept dog toilet returns once the toilet has been delivered. It is no longer “brand new” once assembled with soil & grass.

For any toilet faults please email admin@realgrass-toilet.com to discuss replacement.

We do not refund the cost of any grass alone due to its perishable nature.

Grass patches can still be green for up to 3-4 weeks. Light watering and some exposure to sun can help it stay fresher for longer. You may notice frequently used spots will die earlier, as urine kills grass. We recommend a new patch on the fortnightly subscription for most dogs needs and low maintenance. Sometimes we have experienced that dogs can get picky if it is truely used and dead (post three weeks).

In the toilet training process – fortnightly or weekly for freshness

More than one dog – 2 or 3 weekly subscription

One dog who mainly toilets on walks – 3 or 4 weekly subscription

Frequent urinator – consider replacing a week earlier

Summer time – consider replacing a week earlier
